All of our furs are locally sourced in Alaska.
Our family makes all of the wooden spoons and spatulas. They are made out of Rain Tree, commonly known as Monkey pod. Monkey pod is not indigenous to Alaska. Our only hard wood is birch and it is not very hard, we want our products to last for many years and so we source better materials .
They work great with both cast-iron and teflon.
About Our Knives
All of our knives are hand forged. They are all made of 5160 high carbon spring steel unless otherwise specified in the description. We temper them to a 54 to 56 Rockwell. They are hard enough that they maintain a very sharp edge, but they are not so hard that they are difficult to sharpen.
Our Information
Our brick and mortar location is in Talkeetna Alaska at the end of Main St. We are open from May to the first week of September which is our tourist season. We make and restock our products though out the fall and winter months. We have been residents of Alaska since 2011 and this is home, but we have a busy and unique life in order to make and bring together all of our products! We are originally from NC. In the last couple of years we have been spending a few months there during the winter. It is also a good jump-off point for Mexico where we import most of our textiles from. We have three forges/workshop. Our primary location is in AK then NC and MX. That way where ever we find our selves we can stay busy making our products for you, our costumers.
We have two online businesses this one
(Alaskan Mountain Traders). Specifically for products made by our family and Alaskan made products.
The Mexican Moose, which we have a link to below, are handmade products that we import from Mexico.
We personally know the artisans of the products that we sell and support their creativity and workmanship.

To deliver your favorite products, we have partnered with the most reliable companies. We are ready to entrust them with your orders and are always on your side if something goes wrong.
We will be happy to assist you with eligible returns, the return instructions, and the shipping address. If you need a return or exchange, send us an email so we can discuss a replacement.
RETURN POLICY
We stand behide our work. if you follow the care card instructions and have any issues with your knife, sheath or any of our products please contact us for repair or replacement. If you receive your package and are not happy with your blade for any reason please contact us and we will be happy to speak with you about retuning it within 14 days of purchase. There is a 10% restocking fee if there are no issues with the blade or product, or if you accidentally checked out with the wrong item. If there is any damage to your product upon arrival we will email you a shipping label for return and repair of you your item.
We will NOT cover your blade or handle if you put it in dishwasher ( or washing machine if it is a pocket knife).You can send it back and pay for the repair at the time of the return shipping.
TERMS OF SERVICE
All prices listed are in US Dollars. We ship all products via USPS Priority Mail then Monday following your purchase. ( If Monday is a holiday then we will ship it on Tuesday.) Priority mail is typically 3-5 days from Alaska or North Carolina. We will ship it to the address that you enter for shipping at checkout. If you make a mistake upon checkout please contact us prior to Monday so we may correct your shipping address. You will receive a tracking number via the email address that you used upon checkout. If you live outside the US please ensure that per your country's rules, the product you purchased is accepted as a customs form will be filled out prior to shipping your product.
PRIVACY POLICY
We do not share any of the information that you enter with anyone. Upon checkout, your payment is handled with square.
DISCOUNTS
We offer military discounts upon request. If you make a purchase please email us within three days to have your 10% off refunded to you. We appreciate what you do for our communities and for our country! We will not honor discounts at all on custom orders. these knives take a lot of extra time and work to make therefore can not be discounted.
